Message The Arthur Hazlerigg ( there have been several) I seek information on was my father. He lived in New Zealand from (approx) 1930 to August 1932. He worked on the Mt David gold sluicing claim at Blackwater on the West Coast of the South Island and lived at one stage at 90 Salisbury Street Christchurch. He was, I was told,an English "Remittance Man" ( a "reject" from a noted family-banished to the colonies). To date I have contacted a number of Hazlerigg family members in England ( including Lord Hazlerigg of Nosely Hall) but no one so far has been able to identify an Arthur Hazlerigg who ever lived in New Zealand in the 1930's.I have his signature on several (fostercare/adoption) documents.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It would be a shame never to find out who he actually was!
Regards,
